Collection: Heavy Flow

Managing Heavy Flow

As someone who has experienced heavy periods myself, I know that finding the right routine can make all the difference. Over time, I've learned that the best protection often comes from combining products that suit your body and lifestyle.

That's why I curated this collection of high-absorbency pads and tampons to help you feel confident on your heaviest days.

Heavy Flow Care Checklist:

  • Change frequently: Don't wait for your pad or tampon to reach full capacity. Changing regularly is the #1 way to stay dry, comfortable and leak-free.
  • The power of layers: For extra-heavy days, try the combination method. Pairing a Super Plus tampon with a Heavy Flow pad as backup gives you a double layer of protection.
  • Match your product to your flow: Don't try to make one product fit your whole cycle. Use Heavy Flow pads or Super Plus tampons at the peak of your cycle, then switch to Regular pads, Regular tampons or pantyliners as your flow lightens. This avoids bulkiness and gives you the right amount of protection.
  • Find your perfect fit: A leak is often just a sign of a mismatch. Make sure your pad is positioned correctly and the wings are secure. If you use tampons, choose the lowest absorbency that suits your flow, and size up only when you need to.
  • Master your night routine: You don't have to wake up constantly to check. Our Overnight pads and Extra Heavy Flow pads are longer and wider at the back, giving you reliable protection while you sleep. A snug pair of regular underwear helps keep your pad in place.
  • Sleep position matters:
    • Back sleepers: Choose a longer pad with extra coverage at the back, like our Overnight pads.
    • Stomach sleepers: Position your pad slightly further forward.
    • Side sleepers: Use a pad with wings and well-fitting underwear so there are no gaps at the sides.

Know when to seek advice: While heavy flow is common, it should remain manageable. Please consult a healthcare professional if you need to change your pad or tampon every hour for several hours in a row, if you pass large clots, or if you feel persistent fatigue or dizziness. These can be signs of conditions like anaemia or hormonal imbalances that need medical attention, not just better protection. Your health is the priority.
